Scavenger Hunt
Day 1- Pre production/Pre planning
You will get with your assigned group and go through the list (on the handout)Create a story out of it, maybe your giving a tour of the school, or create a "day in the life" video.....be creative!
Then go through the school and create a story board. (see below)
On the storyboard you need to do a rough sketch and add notes with: location, type of shot; WS wide shot, T tight shot, M medium shot. What angle you are shooting from. List what team member is shooting what. Do you need to bring anything from home for this?
Day 2 Production/shooting
Take the cameras out and shoot. Don't disrupt any classes, quiet in the halls. Stay on school ground. Be productive, you only have one day to shoot:)
Day 3 Post production/Editing
The group will edit the video together, each editing the shots they filmed.

A storyboard is a graphic representation of how your video will unfold, shot by shot. It's made up of a number of squares with illustrations or pictures representing each shot, with notes about what's going on in the scene and what's being said in the script during that shot
The Film Making Procedure
Pre Production/Pre Planning:

- Explore TV, books, history, dreams, or your own experiences for ideas.
- Watch TV show or movies for filming and editing techniques.
- Decide on topic, event, story or theme for the video.
- Brainstorm ideas, shots, actions, text, sounds, etc. to be included in the video.
- Organize ideas, shot, actions, text, sounds, etc. into clips on a storyboard.
- Set up scene, type of shot, action, sound and time for each clip or scene.
- Obtain any permission needed for the production.
- Make a shot list and schedule location shoots.
- Plan your budget, crew, cast (talent)
- Production design -costumes, make-up, lighting, sound needs.
- Shoot the video as planned from the storyboard but utilize location and time of day.
- Keep in mind the basic rules for shooting great videos.
- Record sounds, music, or voices to be used.
- Take still photos to be used. Ingest Video, Photos & Sounds in video editing software.
- Generally import the video as high quality AVCHD 1080p 24.
- Import sound clips and voice for video.
- Save video project.
- Video Logging.
- Drag clips into Timeline.
- Preview clips. Cut, split, delete, and move clips as needed.
- Add photos if needed. Adjust time length
- Add sounds, voice, or music to clips in timeline and adjust levels.
- Add sound effects.
- Add text to clips or between clips as needed.
- Add title and credits clips.
- Add transitions. Keep in mind basic rules for good transitions.
- Add special effects. (Lighten dark video, slow motion, sped up video, aged video, etc.) Finish, Render, and Write to Medium
- Preview edited video.
- Render video to computer, save as a QuickTime or, to shared folder on desktop.
