Dear parents,
As the visual arts department we wanted to let you know about an exciting opportunity for your student. For the past 3 years we have taken students to Los Angeles to experience the visual arts, this year we are excited to announce we are going to NEW YORK, the art capital of the world. Below are a few details, to get more information there will be a parent meeting Thursday, Sept. 13 at 6:30 in room 163, or talk to us at parent teacher conference this Wednesday!
The purpose of this experience is twofold. First, we want to expose the students to various forms of art and art education as we visit various art museums in the New York City area. Second, we want to provide students with an opportunity to create art. All participating students will be asked to create an artwork inspired from their experience in New York. These artworks will be included in a magazine and will be part of a group exhibition. This is an opportunity for the students to immerse themselves in art and be creatively inspired.
Only students who have taken or who are currently enrolled in one full year of an advanced art class (Honors Art, AP Art/photography, Ceramics 2, Jewelry 2, Yearbook, and Advanced Photography) are eligible to attend Art tour.
