Transfers

What can you put a laser transfer on?
Almost anything...
Metal -any type, galvanized, not galvanized, rusted
Wood (spray 2 or 3 times with polyurethane)
Glass
Plexiglass
Canvas (must coat with gelatin, not polyurethane)
Rocks (smooth)
1. Coat your surface with Polyurethane (this is $6-8 at Walmart, it's by the spray paint)
Let it dry.
2. Print an image with a laser printer, color or black and white.
Make sure if there is text on the image you do a horizontal flip, or your words will be backwards.
3. With Mod Podge (can be bought at any craft store, or Walmart) use a foam brush and spread the clue on
the image side of the paper and the sprayed side of the metal. Just a thin coat on both. If it's to thick you can get
glue ridges, if it's to thin then the ink won't on the metal when you start rubbing off.
Rub out all the air bubbles, start in the center and work out the edges.
4. Let it dry for at least 4 or 5 hours. Over night is best.
5. Submerge the whole image in luke warm water or just get your fingers wet. Start rubbing off the paper. Let it dry in between layers of paper. If
it gets too wet the ink will start coming off. Cold water will make it harder to rub off and hot water will make the glue go soft.
6. When all the paper is off spay it with polyurethane again.
